RoHS Testing

In January 2003, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU adopted the RoHS Directive – the Directive on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC. In 2005 the EU supplemented 2002/95/EC with Decision 2005/618/EC, which set maximum concentration values for six hazardous substances.

From 3 January 2013, the original RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC was repealed, and EU Member States had to transpose the new Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2.0) into national law by 2 January 2013. The RoHS test standard remains EN 62321, updated to EN 62321:2012.
